ABOUT US
Vision: To see youth, adults and families who are in transition become self-sufficient and independent.
Mission: The CEDC seeks to serve adults in the Southwest Atlanta community by being a valuable resource for job training and professional development.
Community Empowerment Development Corporation (CEDC), a 501(c)3non-profit corporation, was birthed in 2002 and is the vision of Pastor Michael A. Smith of Community Church. The CEDC is housed in a 9,000 square foot administrative building (the Rudolph Smith Ministry Building) where space is provided in-kind by Community Church. The administrative building also houses the computer lab.
The volunteer Board of Directors comprised of members with diverse backgrounds, including community residents, sponsor several fundraisers throughout the year to raise fund for program operations. The CEDC Board of Directors has participated in the Macy’s Shop for a Cause for several years and recently hosted a “Bowl for a Cause” fundraiser to support the organization.
